Tammy Leis began studying violin at the age of nine in Vietnam. She was a student at the National Conservatoire of Music in South Vietnam. Her teacher was Thanh Cong Bui - Master Violinist from Russia's Magnitogorsk State Conservatoire. She began volunteering by playing violin for orchestras in many cathedrals at the age of eighteen. She started working by playing violin at restaurants, youth clubs, and discotheques with many bands at the age of nineteen.
In the USA, she continued serving God by playing violin for the Vietnamese choir at St. Nicholas Church in Laguna Woods from 2004 to 2010, the Vietnamsese / English choir at St. Thomas More Church in Irvine from 2015 to 2018.
Since 2004, she has performed in many concerts at Aliso Laguna Villa Retirement Center in Aliso Viejo, and Town and Country Manor Retirement Center in Santa Ana. She has also performed for weddings and parties at churches, hotels, and private homes. Her performances have been solo, duo, and trio. Her teams have included Yumi Watanabe (piano), Marguerite Kaiser (piano), Wendy Ngo (piano), David Vu (piano), Hitoshi Suzuki (cello), Julia Wood (cello), Linda Rife (cello), Monty Kerson (accordion), and Jeffrey Leis (accordion).
She has taught private violin since 2004. So far, she has taught more than 100 students. She has had recitals for her students most every year.
She graduated Cum Laude from Saddleback College 2010 with a degree in Music. She's looking forward to more concerts and more students to fill her schedule.
